- Disclose, prior to accepting the assignment, any limitations arising from service
to other clients that may affect the search.
- Spend sufficient time with the client to understand his needs, his organisation’s
culture and personality, and the position to be filled.
- Provide a written position specification verifying its understanding of the position
prior to contacting prospective candidates.
- Communicate regularly and candidly to assure the client that the consultant has
a correct, comprehensive understanding of the assignment and that timely progress
is being made.
- Never use deliberate falsehoods or misrepresentations in any contact with any party.
- Review the research conducted to assure the client that the search is comprehensive
and all reasonable steps have been taken to identify potential candidates.
- Bring maximum objectivity to evaluating the candidate and the quality of the match
with client organisation.
- Refer only candidates who have been personally interviewed and whose credentials
have been verified.
- Provide the client with a summary of pertinent information on all referred candidates
and conduct thorough reference checking of candidates at a time appropriate to the
successful completion of a search assignment.
- Respect the client relationship by not recruiting any person from his organisation
for at least two years after the completion of a search assignment. Regard all information
concerning client business affairs as completely confidential.
- Maintain the highest standard of professional behaviour so that all actions reflect
favourably upon client organisation.
